- Responsibilities:
The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:- Diagnostic and troubleshooting of PLC systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electric equipment and machinery installations.
- Diagnose faults in electrical and electronic systems and test electric and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair electro-pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
- Diagnostic, maintaining and calibration of instruments.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting of AC/DC drive systems.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting of HVAC.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting of lighting and power systems.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance programs and keep up to date maintenance records.
- Accurately complete monthly PM reports and daily work orders.
- Equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
- Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and other members of the company.
- Satisfied all of the above job responsibilities with specific consideration given to:
- Detailed knowledge of troubleshooting industrial, electric and electronic machinery and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot major electrical equipment throughout the facility, including hydraulic and pneumatic controls. A detailed knowledge of installation and maintenance of electrical power systems.
- Ensure that all maintenance and installation procedures were completed within required time standards.
- Timely completion of monthly PM reports and daily work orders.
- Degree to which the Industrial Electrician was judged by his/her Supervisor and peers to be a positive participant of the company maintenance department.
- OH&S: Protected self and others; complied with safety legislation under OHSA, WHMIS; wore and maintained safety clothing and equipment; reported all hazards; reported all accidents and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
- This position will receive an annual performance evaluation. It shall clearly outline the overall performance for the year. Performance Improvement Forms, Transfer Performance Reviews, Interim Reviews, as well as, Internal/Customer Audits, may also be used throughout the year, to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
